WASHINGTON—A Democratic official says Rep. Patrick Kennedy has decided not to seek re-election for his seat representing Rhode Island in the U.S. Congress.

Good grief. The rats are deserting the sinking ship.

Who thought there would come a day when there wouldn’t be a Kennedy at the Capitol?

It’s ironic that this time last year the Democrats thought that Obama was the best thing that has ever happened to them. Now, he is proving to be the worst thing.

Why? I think Victor Davis Hanson at NRO sums it up best here. Hanson ends his piece with what we are left with and the perfect description of Robert Gibbs:

“All we are left with now is three more years of the president’s “Bush did it” mantra and a buffoonish Robert Gibbs, like some strutting carnival barker, showing off ink on his palm to a bored press corps.”
