Imagine this scenario: you are one of 9 people marooned on a desert island. Conditions are harsh, supplies are scarce, there are dangerous wild animals about, and you think it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility that you could run into other human beings that mean all of you harm. On the upside, you do expect to be rescued, but think it’s going to take at least 2 or 3 months. Although it may be tough going, you believe the group can make it through — if you have the right leader. Fortunately, the whole group of you had a contest and you won! That means you can’t be the leader, but you can pick the person in whose hands your lives will be placed. Consider all your fellow castaways and pick a leader…
