Poll Results: The GOP’s 2012 Nominee
Written By : John Hawkins

Yesterday, there was a poll at RWN that asked the following question: Who would you most favor as GOP nominee in 2012?

Sure, it’s a little too early to take the results seriously, but it’s a fun little check to see where people’s heads are at this very early date,

11) Bob Corker: 0% (1)
10) Mitch Daniels: 2% (11)
8) Mike Pence: 3% (19)
8) Ron Paul: 3% (21)
6) Other: 5% (32)
6) Tim Pawlenty: 5% (32)
5) Mike Huckabee: 6% (41)
3) Bobby Jindal: 8% (50)
3) David Petraeus: 8% (55)
2) Mitt Romney: 11% (72)
1) Sarah Palin: 49% (321)

So does this mean a Palin/Romney ticket would make most happy?

I'm not irrationally committed to it, but I'd support a Palin/Hunter ticket in 2012.

Quick summary of results there is there are a lot of good, capable people on the list (plus Huck and RonPaul!), but the only one capable of inspiring a broad base of conservatives and right-leaning independents is Sarah Palin. Depending on what's happening in 2011 and 2012, dull and competent ala Mitch Daniels may be a safer way to get rid of Obama, but in an internet poll in 2009, that's another story.

Maybe Palin/Jindal with Romney and Sowell heading up Treasury. One understands economics and the other has successfully saved floundering big dollar ventures in the past.

So a large group of people who flamed Barack Obama for being a sweet-talking but grossly underqualified underachiever now support Sarah Palin, who has less qualifications, less achievements and persistently trips over her own lack of facts and logic. Not only that, this same group supports Palin by margins of 5 to 1 or higher over a general with no known political ambitions and a governor ( Jindal) who has everything going for him that Obama and now Palin do not. In fact, if you add up Pawlenty,. Huckabee and Palin, 60% of conservative bloggers hunger for a President even less competent that the one we have.

Fortunately, there is a long history in American politics of early front-runners getting shot down, and Palin's dim bulb understanding of politics, economics and foreign affairs doom her to join that gallery of historical footnote failures.

    2 is the answer.

    Let's face it….

Republicans have no idea who their probable nominee might be.

    Nor do Conservatives

    There is always hope…
