West holds out for Newt as he cleans up in Nevada Convention

The Nevada Republican Assembly:  held their Presidential Endorsing Convention today. The event included a Presidential Straw Poll. The NVRA is Nevadas MOST conservative group in the state. Results below will reveal that true conservatives have not given up and that their chosen candidate in the Presidential race IS a conservative.

Newt WINS the NVRA Straw Poll : 48 Newt, 43 Ron Paul

Interesting tidbit for the strawpoll is each time you paid $10 to get in you got to vote. There were actually 48 physical bodies to go with the Gingrich votes but the rumor is that RP people were coming in and out all day, paying twice to get in where most didn’t even stay for the meeting (one individual even paid 5 times to vote). There were a bit over 20 warm bodies getting the Ron Paul votes.

ALL: Officers of the : NVRA voted for Newt in endorsement vote.

Round 1: NG 18, RP 10, MR 4, Perry 2, RS 0, Huntsman 0, Abstain 3

Round 2: NG 20, RP 11, MR 2, Perry 1, Abstain 3

Round 3: 20 NG, 12 RP, MR 2,:  Abstain 3

Round: 4: NG 20, RP 13, Abstain 4

Round 5: NG 21, RP 13, Abstain 2

Just 3 votes shy of a 2/3rds vote but you can see how enthusiastic conservative Nevadans are for Newt Gingrich as their candidate.

Newt also won the 912 Straw Poll as reported by Charlene Bybee, an organizer for Nevada 912 Americans overwhealmingly voted for Newt Gingrich in their Straw Poll they held at the Convention today as well.

$$$ Backing up the states favorite candidate as tweeted by Jon Ralston:
