Pastor Stephen Broden on Michael Steele: “Michael Steele is Wrong.”
Written By : Duane Lester

Pastor Stephen Broden said the opening prayer at the Winning America Back event in Independence, Missouri. He’s the Republican candidate for Congress in Texas’ 30th District. I was able to tag along with Jim Hoft and asked him about Michael Steele’s assertion that black Americans didn’t have a reason to vote for Republicans.

His answer – epic:

Pastor Broden is facing off against socialist Eddie Bernice Johnson. You can donate to his campaign here. Jim Hoft’s post on the answer is here.

There isn't a reason for anyone to vote for Republicans right now, only against Democrats. Until the GOP can step up, show leadership, demonstrate fiscal responsibility and an understanding of what they need to do, people will just be voting for the guys that suck less.

Zero Republicans voted for the Stimulus. Zero Republican Senators voted for the Health Care Bill. One Republican Congressman did.

I think Republicans are getting it, in general. There are a few strays, but overall, I think the crew is coming around.

Duane, I'm gonna have to politely disagree with you there. Republicans are politicians just as are their Democratic adversaries/peers. Republicans have been complicit in growing the size/scope/reach of government over the past 40 years. Republicans have been caught out in pork-barrel politics and corruption/scandal at a steady and alarming rate. Republicans took a Medicare system which was sliding toward fiscal insolvency and gave it a kick to speed it up with Part D.

        Democans and Republicrats.

Now, thrashed out of office to the point that they control none of the three branches of government, Republicans are now speaking to the American people, sounding suspiciously like the seemingly repentant HAL9000 in 2001: A Space Odyssey pleading with Dave who's about to decommission him.

Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over…I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.

I say we keeping turning those setscrews and letting those glass-like memory plates/circuits float up out of harm's way – and not just the on the Republicrat side of the equation, lest you think I'm aiming all my venom at them.

    I'm still a guest?

    Anyway…

Look, we all knew that Steele was wrong from DAY ONE.

What is it with the GOP that we are so supposed to give everyone a “fair shake” that we wait til after they cut our throats and rob us dry before we can even SUGGEST something MIGHT be wrong with them.

I see 2012 slipping from the COLD DEAD FINGERS of the GOP. And with decisions like THIS, there will be no tears to shed for it.

The CREW may be coming around, but not totally. And the Committee – phew!

Then you take like Rick Perry, we gave him a hefty 20% slice above Lefty Kay Bailey Hutchison, then he sees John McCain crawl backwards over glass away from SHAMNESTY, HAS to see TEXANS all over the place BEGGING HIM UNANIMOUSLY for Arizona II Anti-ILLEGAL ALIEN INVASION laws, and says Texas doesn't want to go that direction.

Well, if we DID NOT want to go that direction, we would have voted for KAY BAILEY HUTCHISON who wanted more open borders.

TIRED of RINOS seeing what we have to say about something, and them veering off into LALA LAND with DIM MARXISTS.

“The GOP Crew” always comes around (begging and apologizing to conservatives) near election time. After the elections however, the GOP reverts to its same old pattern of throwing conservatives under the bus. Its been that way ever since Goldwater lost in 1964 at which time the GOP lost its nerve and began to morph into the party which we know today that readily abandons its conservative principlces when it deems it expedient to do so.

I was a life-long conservative Republican, 50+ years. Was, until sometime late last year when I just couldn't take any more. I seem to be caught between a rock and a hard place, disappointed and angry with the GOP. Being a conservative, I want to see those values in the people that represent us, but also worry about the constant “warnings” from the GOP that voting third-party will only assure Democratic victories.

How the heck can we ever get out of this two party merry-go-round? What incentive is there to change if the GOP leadership feels that we have no choice but vote Republican if we want the Democrats defeated?

I see some hope in some of the younger, more junior Republican Representatives (the Senate – not so much), but there are so few that I feel are sincere.

    It's so frustrating.

Meanwhile, the country is being steadily destroyed, bill by bill…

      Conservative Republican is an oxymoron.
Conservative Libertarian, while redundant, is logical.

SHUT UP Hoggo, nobody cares what you think.

  • Power_System_Oper

If you want to stay out from under the bus
Don't give Republican pols your trust
So from my conservative point of view
Choose a Libertarian to represent you.

Can someone put the gist of the video comment here for those of us who have no sound? Very frustrating when the article doesn't spell it out.
