VIDEO: Watch Bolivian Man’s Painful GoCam Video of His Failed ‘Death Road’ Parachute Base Jump Off a Rocky Cliff

All you can do when you watch this video is wince. A man in Bolivia was attempting to use one of those helmet-mounted sports cameras to film a base jump off the side of a rocky mountain cliff but his parachute didn’t open and instead of soaring out over the cliffs and into the skies he slammed to the ground causing himself some serious injuries.

This video from the point of view of the jumper is wince-inducing as he rides his bike off a ramp on Bolivia’s “Death Road” base jump area.

If you are unaware, base jumping is when someone jumps off a fixed object like a mountain cliff, a tall building, or a very high bridge, and with a parachute and fly-suit eventually drifts safely to the ground.

According to the YouTube notation the man suffered injuries included fractures in his forearm and cut tendons in his knee.
