Two More NYPD Officers Shot in the Bronx; Manhunt Underway
On the heels of the burial of two NYPD officers killed in the line of duty, two more men in blue have been shot. There is now a manhunt underway to find the suspects, who have been described as “Hispanic males in their 20’s, wearing hats over their faces.”
Two unidentified police officers were shot in The Bronx. The shooting took place around 10:30 pm in Fordham Heights.
One officer was reportedly shot in the back and the other in the arm. The officers were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and are expected to be ok.
The New York Daily News is reporting that the officers walked in on a robbery when the shooting occurred. The suspects are described as Hispanic males in their 20s who were wearing hats over their faces.
A manhunt is underway for the suspects who are still at large. According to WNBC reporter Ida Siegel, a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to their capture.
I hope justice is swift and harsh in this case, and it’s amazing that these officers weren’t killed. The police should not have to put up with this kind of nonsense on a daily basis. We need to stand behind our local police who have shown time and time again that they put their lives on the line for the least-deserving among us.
