Alexander Statement on Proposal to Relocate Gitmo Detainees to American Soil

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, today issued the following statement on the administration’s proposal to move detainees from Guantanamo Bay to the United States:

“Congress made it very clear to the administration that bringing dangerous terrorists onto American soil is not only the wrong thing to do, but goes against the wishes of the American people. I have yet to hear one good reason why moving these terrorists from off our shores right into the heart of our country makes us safer.”

Safer isn’t the point. Political appeasement is the point.

The location of the detainees has absolutely no bearing on the safety of American citizens. Attacking American citizens or holding them for hostage could happen anywhere domestically or otherwise to attempt to obtain their release. Piss poor logic as usual.

Actually it has quite a lot of bearing, but since when have silly things like “facts” and “logic” ever mattered to a liberal?

Our safety? How about the safety of the terrorists? Do you know how many murders there are in Obama’s hometown and political training ground of Chicago?

These guys are going from a secure tropical vacation spot to a freezing cold Murderland, USA. If I were one of these guys I’d get my CAIR appointed lawyer on the phone and start churning out lawsuits.

Obama said he would close Gitmo and that is what he is doing. Just because the alternative to Gitmo is worse isn’t going to stop this administration from doing it. Just like everything else they are trying to do, what is best for America is not a consideration. The donks are just playing politics.

Oh yes there is. The opportunity to potentially break free or have released a mass number of islamic terrorists on US soil has just been increased. This was a non solution to a non problem based only on politics. Shame on you and your dingleberry of a president.
