Michael Moore Asks If Obama Has Drunk The Bush Kool Aid
This is going to leave a mark. Of course, Obama listens to no one but Obama and his political advisers, clueless all (found during a venture into the fever swamps of the DU)

Dear President Obama,
Do you really want to be the new “war president”? If you go to West Point tomorrow night (Tuesday, 8pm) and announce that you are increasing, rather than withdrawing, the troops in Afghanistan, you are the new war president. Pure and simple. And with that you will do the worst possible thing you could do — destroy the hopes and dreams so many millions have placed in you. With just one speech tomorrow night you will turn a multitude of young people who were the backbone of your campaign into disillusioned cynics. You will teach them what they’ve always heard is true — that all politicians are alike. I simply can’t believe you’re about to do what they say you are going to do. Please say it isn’t so.
Wait, he’s giving his speech at West Point? I smell photo op.
Anyhow, it is now all Obama’s war. I guess Michael, with his “all politicians are alike,” missed Candidate Neophyte talking about Afghanistan being the good war and promising to put more troops into the conflict time after time.
Choose carefully, President Obama. You of all people know that it doesn’t have to be this way. You still have a few hours to listen to your heart, and your own clear thinking. You know that nothing good can come from sending more troops halfway around the world to a place neither you nor they understand, to achieve an objective that neither you nor they understand, in a country that does not want us there. You can feel it in your bones.
I agree with Fat Mike. Obama surely doesn’t understand what is going on in Afghanistan. Just like he doesn’t understand global warming, healthcare, the economy, the global war on terrorism, bipartisanship, and, oh, how to be President.
I know you know that there are LESS than a hundred al-Qaeda left in Afghanistan! A hundred thousand troops trying to crush a hundred guys living in caves? Are you serious? Have you drunk Bush’s Kool-Aid? I refuse to believe it.
Heh! I wonder where Moore is getting the 100 AQ nuts figure. Probably like most liberal ideas, he just made it up because it sounded good. Reality means nothing.
If only Obama would drink more of “Bush’s kool aid.” He certainly has no clue why he is doing certain things in the fight against Islamic extremism, but, he kept to Bush’s Iraq timeline,Gitmo is still not closed, and nowhere close to being closed, he has kept rendition-lite, and many Bush era surveillance ops. On the flip side, it is now called Operation Overseas Contingency and he is going to try KSM and the others in civilian court.
Finally, just for clarity, I have said before and I will say again, I do not believe a surge will work. I think it will simply incent more Islamic jihadis to travel to Afghanistan to kill American troops. But, I will support Obama’s decision, whatever it shall be, regarding Afghanistan.
