VIDEO: Irish Lunatics WENT HIGH DIVING Into The Ocean During A Major Windstorm

Courageous, or crazy?

Well, here’s something you won’t see every day[1]…

Hundreds of people were evacuated from their homes and one person died as Storm Desmond swept the north of the UK yesterday.

Around 55,000 people were left without power and the Met Office issued a ‘red’ warning telling people to avoid travelling and stay inside where they could.

Most people, sensibly, took the advice.

But these teenagers in Galway decided actually it would be a great opportunity to go for a dip.

They somersaulted and jumped into the sea from a high platform at Salthill, as passersby struggled to even stay upright in the high winds.

Footage emerged on Facebook when Cathal Devlin posted it saying he wanted to highlight the ‘madness and stupidity of what these youngsters are doing.’

‘If any one of them got into difficulties there was no one there to do anything for them. The voluntary and rescue services are kept busy enough without having to worry about this type of stupid behaviour.’

Galway is on the west coast of Ireland, and high winds and waves aren’t a particularly uncommon phenomenon there. Still, it usually requires a degree of courage – liquid or otherwise – not present even among the rowdiest Irish to result in what’s in this video…
