This is just despicable.[1] Trolls who were outraged over the death of the gorilla in Ohio are targeting a woman with the same name as the mother of the little boy who was rescued. They are saying the vilest things to her. She keeps telling them they have the wrong woman, but they won’t stop, even going so far as to say vicious things about her little boy. The family that was involved in this is black… this woman is white. And sending these kinds of messages to anyone is just plain wrong. There is more than enough blame to go around concerning the whole affair. The fence was too low, allowing the child to gain access. The mother lost track of the child, who ran off. The zoo was forced to put the gorilla down to save the child. Some of these people were claiming that the gorilla was holding the boy’s hand and protecting him. But if you watch the video that showed the incident… the gorilla violently dragged the child through the moat and some accounts say he slammed the child against the enclosure wall. The child could have easily died. The zoo did the right thing and the parents are not suing… they are just relieved to have their little boy back.

From Liberty Unyielding:
A Northwest Ohio woman is speaking out after she became the target of online abuse linked to the death of a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo.
Many people have messaged Michelle Gregg of Weston, thinking she’s the same Michelle Gregg whose son fell into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday, leading officials to kill the animal.
“It is crazy that they typed in my name, saw that I was from Ohio, saw that I had a little boy, and assumed that I was her,” said Gregg.
She says she became a target shortly after the incident.
“That I deserve to die instead of the gorilla, and someone even said that my child should have had his limbs taken off and he should have been eaten alive by the gorilla,” said Gregg.
One message even mentioned karma was coming for her and her son.
It’s sad the way this poor woman had to defend herself from all this hate. It’s even more tragic that there is so much hate out there over something like this. “People that were hateful, I thought they needed to know that I wasn’t the person that they were looking for, and for the people who were being positive, I wanted to thank them,” said Gregg. Several days later, the messages have died down, but she says she still can’t believe how people have verbally abused her and the boy’s real mother. “I know how she feels because I’m receiving a ton of email that’s directed towards her, and I’m sorry that everything is happening to her like this, and I know what a child is capable of in a blink of an eye,” said Gregg. That little boy’s mother will carry her mistake with her the rest of her days. Yes, she should have watched the child more closely, but how many of us have had one of our children run off like that? As for the gorilla… I’m sad he had to be put down, but they could not chance that he would kill the child. Those wishing harm on that family are violent thugs and hatemongers. Let this family recover in peace.
