Former Delta Force Operator Gives Obama’s ISIS Strategy a Big Reality Check

A president who has never served in the military, and also has no respect for or understanding of the military, does not make for a good combination. Unfortunately, that’s the situation we’re in with our current Commander-in-Chief, and former Delta Force operator Dale Comstock is calling him out for his pathetic strategy on how to deal with ISIS.

On Wednesday, President Obama sent a resolution requesting military force against ISIS to Congress.

For the first time since the United States engaged in airstrikes in Syria and Iraq, the resolution calls for “limited ground combat operations” to help decimate ISIS’s caliphate. However, those operations are reportedly limited to rescue missions and targeting ISIS’s leadership.

… Here’s what the special operations veteran and author of American Badass had to say:

“A year ago if you looked at Obama’s view on the whole ISIS thing, he downplayed their effectiveness. He compared them to a ‘JV team’ when he was asked about their threat level compared to Al-Qaeda. It took a while, but he eventually launched airstrikes. Now he is authorizing a limited ground campaign with special operations groups.

I understand that ground troops help battle field dynamics change. But we knew a year ago that these guys were a serious threat and coming at everything like a freight train. Obama hasn’t been cold and calculating about the matter, he’s been purely negligent.”

… You’re never going to kill the whole idea of what ISIS is about unless the rest of the Arab and Islamic word rail against. We can at least stop the carnage on the battlefield and the villages and towns that they’re over running.

Unless Obama gives the military the ability to get the job done, we aren’t going to make any progress. He lets politics obscure what needs to be done on the ground. People may have called George Bush a cowboy because of his attitude, but that’s the way you have to go about it.

The King of Jordan had the same attitude when his pilot was burned alive. But people around the world and in America respected him because he showed ISIS that he wasn’t going to back down, but instead double down on crushing them. That’s the kind of leadership and strategy we need.“

Oh look, another glaring example of how Obama is completely out of his depth on foreign policy, national security, and the military. Maybe one of these days, Obama will get out of the military’s way and let them actually do their job.
