In Boone County, West Virginia, there’s a teacher that’s got herself into very hot water for wearing a top with a patch that displays the caption “Tuck Frump” pinned on the back. Not the smartest move if you cherish your job.
Oh wait. She’s a teacher. She’ll get a slap on the wrist at best.
Cheryl Judy is the middle school art teacher in question. She teaches at Sherman Junior and Senior high schools, and apparently thought it would be a brave and safe move to show her students how immature and foolish she is, so she wore the top with the pinned phrase to show off.
She tried to justify her actions by saying the anti-Trump apparel was only shown to her sixth or eighth grade students. But that didn’t guarantee the students that she wouldn’t end up on a students Snapchat app.
“Without me thinking I said ‘Sure,’ and she didn’t post it to be mean or anything.”
And here is where her luck goes down the drain.
There was a massive social media backlash that had some people demanding that she turn in her resignation. Superintendent Jeff Huffman has said that there will be a full investigation as soon as the school’s spring break ends.
Huffman had this to say:
“We expect professionalism with both conduct and appearance. It seems to have caused a great amount of concern from around the area and around the nation, as we’ve received multiple phone calls today.”
Let’s see if these school administrators are going to do the right thing and separate this impulsive lady from their kids. She couldn’t wait to shove her political onions down her students’ throats.
What an atrocious lack of judgment…and a brain.
In John Hawkins’ new book ‘101 Things All Young Adults Should Know’, he teaches “Don’t put anything on social media you would be uncomfortable with the whole world seeing.” I believe what this art teacher did would qualify. Really, though? It’s 2017. EVERYONE is watching.
