Charles Barkley Triggers Liberals With His Take On Confederate Statues

Charles Barkley has a long, wonderful history of taking liberals to task over things that they think he should agree with them on because, well, he’s black. And of course, they believe they have a monopoly on hive-think among minorities.

Now he’s discussing the Confederate monument issue and you can bet that Democrats aren’t going to like what he has to say.

“I’m not going to waste my time worrying about these Confederate statues — that’s wasted energy. You know what I’m gonna do? I’m gonna keep doing great things, I’m gonna keep trying to make a difference — number one, in the black community because I’m black — but I’m also going to try to do good things in the world.”

What? You mean he’s not going to become a screaming banshee over the Confederate monuments? How are we supposed to gin up anger among the minority community if they start not caring??

Oh, but he continued.

“I’ve always ignored them. I’m 54 years old,” he stated. “I’ve never thought about those statues a day in my life. I think if you ask most black people to be honest, they haven’t thought a day in their life about those stupid statues.”

He then laid out exactly what black people need to do with regards to this situation:

“We need to worry about getting our education, we need to stop killing each other, we need to try to find a way to have more economic opportunity and things like that. Those things are important and significant.”

Predictably, social media began breathing fire over his opinion, but the support he got was far more important than anything the haters had to say.[5]

We need more people who have a pragmatic take on hot-button issues like this. I absolutely love this, Charles is such a good guy. Let’s hope someone listens to him.
