Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson[1] joined the “Five-Timers” club by hosting the 42nd season finale of Saturday Night Live yesterday. Recently, Johnson has jested about running for the presidency, but only if Americans overwhelmingly want him. Johnson took the chance while playing host to announce his bid for the 2020 Presidency and his running mate will be Tom Hanks. He says it’s a joke… I’m not so sure. Tell me that wouldn’t be a winning ticket. It would be thunderous.
They’d almost have to run on an Independent ticket as Johnson is a conservative and Hanks is a liberal. Alec Baldwin feigned offense because he wasn’t chosen… but honestly… who would choose that moonbat? Everyone loves Johnson and Hanks… Baldwin, not so much. Johnson and Hanks joked about having a lock on all demographics… but again behind the humor, there is a LOT of truth there. They are both lovable, handsome and funny. And most importantly, they are outsiders and not politicians.

From the Independent Journal Review:
Johnson, who has recently made light of calls to enter politics — and even to run for president in 2020[3] — chose that moment to announce his presidential bid (relax, he said he was joking). He also announced his running mate, Tom Hanks, much to the chagrin of Alec Baldwin.
They explained that, together, they would have a lock on nearly every demographic.
Hanks: I would get the senior vote because I fought in World War II in at least ten movies.
Johnson: I would get the minority vote because everyone just assumes I am whatever they are.
They touted their popularity:
Hanks: I have been in two movies with plane crashes and people are still happy to see me on their flights.
Johnson: I once ran a red light, and the traffic-cam footage alone made billion dollars.
And while Johnson and Hanks did deliver a few barbs aimed at the White House — “we need more poise and less noise in politics” — the largely populist appeal of the message they promoted explained in just a few short moments why President Trump won in 2016.
“Americans deserve strong capable leaders who care about this country and care about its people.”
Left or right[4], liberal or conservative, at least both Johnson and Hanks care about this country. That’s exactly why Donald Trump was elected… love of country and he was an outsider. It’s a winning formula. Both of these men support the military and the police, just as Trump does. The question is, does this dynamic duo really care about and appeal to the Forgotten Man as Trump does? Stay tuned.
Johnson has appeared[5] at both Republican and Democratic conventions. Hanks is a friend of the Obamas and Clinton. So not everything is perfect there. But our elections have been so out-of-the-box weird, it’s hard to tell if celebrity and fame are enough all by themselves to get these two elected. And could they beat Trump? Because I have a feeling that if possible, Trump will run for a second term and will be hard to beat. Johnson and Hanks may be joking, may be not. 2020 will be very interesting.
