Sean Hannity is Considering Leaving Fox to Join a New Conservative Network

As the drama at Fox News continues to mount, is it possible that the more conservative hosts are thinking about abandoning ship?

According to Mediaite, it’s looking like conservative host Sean Hannity could be jumping to a new, right-leaning news network.

“A well-placed source close to the proposal tells Mediaite that serious discussions are underway to create an alternative conservative cable network on the belief that the Fox News Network is moving too far to the left. The source, who is engaged in the talks, says a meeting is planned for today with two prominent high-powered television executives, some underperforming conservative networks and people who have an interest and the ability to fund a new network.”

With the network mired in lawsuits and accusations, many are turning away from Fox News.

There are those of us who have been calling for a more staunchly conservative news network for the last 8 years, after seeing Fox fail to be the voice for our beliefs. While I firmly believe that the media should be unbiased in the reporting of the news, it’s clear that alternative (read: non-liberal) voices are being shunned in the mainstream media. The development of a new network with a clear set of right-leaning goals would be extremely popular for those who are tired of watching the alphabet networks beat up on Republicans and conservatives in politics.

Mediaite also claims that a senior television exec has confirmed not only the rumors of a new network, but a timeline for its unveiling as well:

“I’m working on it (the new conservative channel) hot and heavy. . . It’s live, it’s real.” We are told by two sources involved, that the meeting Friday led to even more confidence that the network will soon become a reality.

It is said that within a year, we could have a conservative alternative to MSNBC, CNN and Fox News.
