The nice thing about making predictions of doom is that they really grab people’s attention. Just make sure you don’t use specific dates. Otherwise, people will laugh at you when the predictions don’t come true. For example:
Governments are running out of time to address climate change and to avoid the worst effects of rising temperatures, an influential UN panel warned yesterday.
Greater energy efficiency, renewable electricity sources and new technology to dump carbon dioxide underground can all help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the experts said. But there could be as little as eight years left to avoid a dangerous global average rise of 2C or more.
That hysterical screed giving us 8 years before doom descends was published 8 years ago yesterday. Today, instead of watching the seas boil, collaborators in the hoax are struggling to explain why it hasn’t gotten perceptibly warmer, despite the levels of beneficial CO2 continuing to rise.
Another 2007 prediction had already exploded in the face of the warmists. From last summer:
The speech by former US Vice-President Al Gore was apocalyptic. ‘The North Polar ice cap is falling off a cliff,’ he said. ‘It could be completely gone in summer in as little as seven years. Seven years from now.’
Those comments came in 2007 as Mr Gore accepted the Nobel Peace Prize for his campaigning on climate change.
But seven years after his warning, The Mail on Sunday can reveal that, far from vanishing, the Arctic ice cap has expanded for the second year in succession – with a surge, depending on how you measure it, of between 43 and 63 per cent since 2012.
Where do “experts” like Al Gore and scientists who have been corrupted by government money come up with their invariably wildly wrong predictions regarding the nonexistent climate crisis? Ask a proctologist.
Yet because they live in a bubble of their own delusional propaganda, our rulers’ faith in our gullibility remains unshaken. As recently as Sunday, former top UN moonbat Kofi Annan was barking that we need to eat bugs in the name of liberal ideology or the climate will change.
Their hoax doesn’t pass the laugh test. But they can’t hear the laughter.
