Denmark May Impose Tax on Meat to Improve the Weather for Ethical Reasons

People who think of themselves as decent and nice justify their rejection of morality in favor of progressivism by piously proclaiming allegiance to what they portray as a higher morality. Their alternate ethnics are not only degenerate but literally insane:

Denmark is considering proposals to introduce a tax on red meat, after a government think tank came to the conclusion that “climate change is an ethical problem”.

Don’t think about that sentence for too long. It could cause profound psychiatric damage.

The Danish Council of Ethics recommended an initial tax on beef, with a view to extending the regulation to all red meats in future. It said that in the long term, the tax should apply to all foods at varying levels depending on climate impact.

The council voted in favour of the measures by an overwhelming majority, and the proposal will now be put forward for consideration by the government.

The measure’s prospects are excellent. Anything that calls for more taxes as punishment for some unavoidable aspect of human existence — making things, heating/cooling homes, transport, eating, etc. — is sure to find widespread support and only meager opposition.

Not long ago it would have been acknowledged as obvious that anyone who thinks it is morally righteous to confiscate people’s money in the name of improving the weather by punishing them for eating belongs in a padded cell. Now these malevolent lunatics are in charge.
