Senator Sheldon Whitehouse Implies That Those With Doubts About Global Warming Should Be Imprisoned

The transition from soft to hard tyranny could come sooner than some expect. US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) climbed atop a soapbox provided by the Washington Post and proclaimed:

Fossil fuel companies and their allies are funding a massive and sophisticated campaign to mislead the American people about the environmental harm caused by carbon pollution.

Their activities are often compared to those of Big Tobacco denying the health dangers of smoking. Big Tobacco’s denial scheme was ultimately found by a federal judge to have amounted to a racketeering enterprise. …

The parallels between what the tobacco industry did and what the fossil fuel industry is doing now are striking.

In short, Whitehouse is suggesting that those who dispute his position that harmless CO2 emissions are causing a climate crisis should be imprisoned on racketeering charges. It is unclear how closely we will have to conform to Whitehouse’s opinions on global warming in order to avoid incarceration.

Others who called for prison time for those who won’t go along with the hoax include Camelot’s Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Gawker’s Adam Weinstein, and congresscritter Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), who represents a part of Arizona that has fallen to the Reconquista. Also, let’s not forget the clueless pop science screwball David Suzuki.

Sure these people are kooks and gadflies, but to varying degrees they are powerful and/or influential kooks and gadflies. For each one malevolent enough to shriek that “climate deniers” should be thrown in prison for their heresy, there are many more who would go along with this tyranny.

Even nuts like Whitehouse seem to understand that as the wheels continue to come loose from the hoax, only coercion will prevent it from collapsing. Too many have invested too much in this farcical make-believe crisis to let that happen without taking the most drastic measures they can get away with.
