Don’t Blame Reince – It’s In His Nature

Depending on whom your candidate of choice was, last nights debate on CNBC, was a rousing success.

Oh, it didn’t start out that way – or so I’ve heard. I must admit I missed the first segment or two. Apparently I didn’t miss much. The “moderators” threw out badgering “gotcha” questions and the candidates answered. It wasn’t until my man Ted Cruz brought the house down that the debate got interesting.

Brent Smith[1]

It was a galvanizing moment for the GOP candidates, as Cruz came to the rescue of several of his fellow republican hopefuls.

And thanks, in part, to his audiographic memory, he was able, with relative ease I might add, to dismantle the whole of the media and their leftist agenda, as he quoted, in order, all the inane and insulting quips that the leftist plants, posing as moderators, threw out at several of the other candidates. Go back and view it. Better yet – here you go.

It’s a masterpiece, of which even establishment pollster and focus group maven Frank Luntz admitted had scored higher than any other in the history of his tracking career. 24 of the 26 focus group participants scored Cruz’s remarks 100%. You could here it in his voice as he spoke to Sean Hannity, that Luntz was stunned by the result.

Cruz had successfully exposed the moderators for who they really are – democrat shills.

Now, immediately after the debate, RNC chairman, Reince Priebus fired out that he was “extremely disappointed” with the moderators performance. In a statement he said, “While I was proud of our candidates and the way they handled tonight’s debate, the performance by the CNBC moderators was extremely disappointing and did a disservice to their network, our candidates, and voters.”

He then followed up by tweeting that, “CNBC should be ashamed of how this debate was handled,” and “I will fight to ensure future debates allow for a more robust exchange.”

So I have a question. Why would anyone with a brain be surprised by the “performance” of the CNBC crew? It is after all, NBC. It matters not whether it’s the NBC business channel. It’s still NBC, the preeminent mouthpiece of the left and the democrat party. Really Reince? Did you actually think our candidates would get a fair shake? Really?

Frankly, if anyone is to blame for this, it is Reince Priebus and the establishment RNC. They are the ones who set this up. They are the ones who control the entire debate schedule. We certainly can’t blame the left. They are going to do what they do.

I guess, for Cruzers like me, it was a blessing in disguise. The clip of Ted has been continuously replayed nationwide, as those on the right are finally able to see him as the real champion of conservatives who, like The Donald, won’t just sit down and take their crap.

Yet it’s hard to blame Reince for the any of these gotcha sessions we call debates. Priebus is, as are all his colleagues and the politicians he undoubtedly supports, an inside-the-beltway establishment republican. And for whatever reason, they continue to trust the snakes in the other party and their minions in the press.

Actually the reason is quite simple. The establishment and left are kindred spirits in their battle against the conservative movement and their effort to maintain the Washington status quo. We are enemy number one. This is the reason they refuse to schedule a debate moderated by real conservatives, such as Sean, Rush, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck. I know for a fact that Hillsdale College has tried to set up just such a forum and have been flatly denied.

In my opinion, this is phony outrage on Reince’s part. He and the RNC are like the Scorpion, perched on the back of the Frog (and we’re the Frog), as the Frog ferry’s the Scorpion across the river. As the Frog blindly swims, the Scorpion rears up and stings him, to which the Frog says, “You fool! Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?” The Scorpion replies: “I could not help myself. It is in my nature.” This is what the RNC has been doing to us for years.

Maybe it’s time us Frogs stand up and demand the Scorpions in the RNC play ball on our field for a change. Schedule a real debate with real moderators who will actually ask questions “about the substantive issues people care about.”
