Occupy Sesame Street: The Million Muppet March

Forget about the debt, the economy, jobs, Obamacare, Fast and Furious, Libya, gas prices, and the middle class because the Left is obviously looking to center the remainder of the campaign around the single most crucial issue in America:: borrowing almost half a billion dollars a year from China so we can funnel it to a highly successful corporation[1].

Plans to save Big Bird, the fuzzy yellow character on U.S. public television’s “Sesame Street,” from possible extinction are taking shape in the form of a puppet-based protest next month dubbed the “Million Muppet March.”

The demonstration is planned for November 3 at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., three days before the general election.

Before the presidential debate between Democratic President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney had concluded on October 3, two men who had never met each floated the Million Muppet March idea on social media. They immediately united to defend public broadcasting.

Romney pledged during the debate to end the U.S. federal government’s subsidy for the Public Broadcasting Service despite his professed love for Big Bird, one of the characters on PBS’s 43-year-old children’s educational program “Sesame Street,” which features the Muppets.

So, who carries the “Free Mumia” sign, Big Bird or Cookie Monster? Who enforces the “rape free zone” that Libs apparently need at liberal protests these days, Elmo or Oscar the Grouch? Setting aside the inanity of embracing something this trivial as a crucial issue for liberals down the stretch (Even John Stewart has said as much)…

….Isn’t it ironic that we have liberals organizing a protest because they’re upset that a Republican wants to cut off money for a profitable corporation? I thought liberals were opposed to handing out taxpayer money to fat cats like the guy making $314,000 a year playing Big Bird. If you’re not even willing to take Big Bird off the dole, it’s hard to see how you can possibly deal with the deficit spending that’s crushing the future of the children that will one day have to work like serfs to pay for the money we’re giving him.
