Words of Wisdom From Alan Dershowitz & Elie Wiesel

Random observations from the media over the last few days:: : : 

• Great op-ed[1]: : by: Alan Dershowitz in The Huffington Post on Sheldon Adelson:  — Some key excerpts: “It’s hard to find anyone who has done as much for the Jewish community as Sheldon Adelson. Adelson grew up in: Boston: in near poverty and is a shining example of the American dream. He is a self-made multi-billionaire who has contributed significantly to the world of modern technology and to the economic growth of: Las Vegas: and other areas. His generosity has helped repair the world.” The same could be said of: Dr. Irving Moskowitz[2]: who the Jewish left loves to hate — these men simply help the Jewish people and seemingly Jewish liberals love to condemn them for it.
• “A challenge for: America: is to avoid enflaming Al-Qaeda worldwide.” Is that a normal statement, or do we in the West fairly accept the notion that Al-Qaeda simply wants to destroy: America? I think it’s fairly clear they simply want to kill Americans — So what’s the difference when David Ignatius: writes in an editorial[3]: in The Washington Post that “the challenge for: Israel: is how to avoid inflaming Arab public opinion, a newly important factor, while protecting the country.” No matter what Israel does Arab nations get angry, and no matter what America does Al-Qaeda gets angry.
• Owning a: PR firm[4], I travel often which isn’t enjoyable yet it’s so nice to spend Friday nite in a synagogue when traveling away from home.: : I often think of a famous Elie Wiesel quote “It’s Friday nite, I am a Jew and my place is in a synagogue.” While there’s no place like home, in the last year I have spent Friday nite praying in Israel, Europe, Canada, Latin America and countless different states, and its such a nice feeling to see the Jewish community worldwide stop Friday nites and pray.:  An easy way to instantly feel connected to home and your people.
• Anxiously awaiting the release of the new book “Israel: The Will To Prevail” by Danny Danon, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset and a Likud Knesset Member. I know Danon for 20+ years from the days we were both in Betar, the youth movement of: Ze’ev Jabotinsky[5]: and am confident his new book will provide interesting conversation.
