The killing just goes on and on and on in Chicago. It never ends and no one seems to be doing a damn thing to stop it. Another four are now dead in the Windy City and it’s still crickets from the media. Ramon Flores, 21, was shot on his porch while they were listening to music and talking. Someone shot into a crowd multiple times and one of those shots went through Flores’ arm and into his chest. He died later at a hospital. His friends and family were horrified and now he’s gone. And the leaders in Chicago are impotent and just say they are doing all they can do. It’s nowhere near enough.
There were thirty-one shootings in Chicago this weekend. Four people were killed. Among those, a four year-old little boy was wounded and his mother was killed. The violence brought to at least 407 the number of homicides this year, four more than this time last year, according to data kept by the Chicago Tribune. Why do they let the lawlessness go on and not crack down on it as Giuliani did in New York? So many have died. It defies all reason and logic to let the slaughter go on like this.
From the Chicago Tribune:
Ramon Flores, 21, was enjoying the warm summer night on his porch with a few friends, listening to music and talking, in the Belmont Central neighborhood on the Northwest Side when someone across the street shot at the crowd early Sunday.
The gunman fired multiple times and hit Flores’ right arm, ultimately penetrating his chest, about 12:20 a.m. Monday, police said. Flores was rushed to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead.
More than a dozen of Flores’ friends and family gathered outside his brick home in the 2400 block of North Meade Avenue, hugging and crying in the hours after his killing.
One woman flung her arms around Flores’ mom and later dropped to the ground, rocking on her toes as she crouched and balled herself up.
“No! They didn’t have to take him away from me. And from his mom and his whole family. No!” she shrieked.
Flores was among two people killed and eight others hurt, including a 13-year-old boy, in city shootings between Sunday and Monday mornings.
At least 2,190 people have been shot in Chicago this year, compared to 2,399 this time last year, statistics show. So, the shootings are down just a little bit, but the murders are up. I guess the killers are getting to be better shots. Chicago is living proof that gun control does not work. If people were able to arm themselves there for protection, a lot of this would stop. I guarantee it. But the progressives in power won’t let that happen.
Friends and families watch their loved ones die in Chicago… it’s become a killing field. A lawless wasteland full of gangs and thugs. I never thought I would say this, but it is time to send in the National Guard there and stop this depravity. President Trump should make that happen and stop the bloodshed.
