There has been a shooting[1] in Ft. Worth at a dance studio. Two are dead and six were shot. The name of the dance studio is Studio 74 and is located near a police station. Authorities are not sure of the timing of the shooting. One victim was found dead at the studio and one died at the hospital. Studio 74’s website says the facility brings “dance programming to underserved communities and the general public to reach audiences and participants of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds.” Someone brought death to them.

Two people were killed and several others injured following a shooting at a nonprofit dance studio in Fort Worth, Texas[3], police said Saturday.

Officers found one victim dead outside Studio 74, and several people were transported to hospitals — one of whom died from his injuries, Fort Worth police spokesman Daniel Segura said in a statement.

It was unclear what time the shooting occurred. Segura said homicide detectives were investigating Saturday morning at the studio, which sits on a state highway near a police station and multiple businesses and restaurants.

The owner of the studio said a group having a party on the property wasn’t authorized to be there. Laura Reyna is the owner and artistic director at Studio 74. She told The Associated Press that there was no contract for the group to be at the studio at all on Friday night and that she considers it trespassing. Jason Moore was working at the studio when gunfire erupted outside. Moore says he tried to resuscitate one of the victims, but he was shot in the lungs and died at the scene. Reyna says Moore had thought incorrectly that the group was authorized to be there. Moore said several members of the group were carrying guns and that he thought he heard shots fired inside as well. Another tragedy that will be blamed on guns and not those having a party and a fight. Tragic.
