I have a problem with this story. Unless it is a homosexual rape, I’m not sure how you ‘rape’ a man. But that is what is being claimed in South Africa. A 23 year-old man who hailed a taxi there, got in and then was forced into the front seat and drugged, then he passed out. When he awoke, he was on a single bed somewhere and three women raped him for three days. At least he claims they did.
The government in Pretoria takes the so-called rape of men very seriously and they should. But this one really seems iffy to me. Exactly how will they prove rape by the way? There were no signs of forced sex and for him to dance with these ladies, he’d have to be attracted to them. I wonder if this guy has had a mental evaluation? Not to be insensitive, but this seems more like a stunt for attention than a crime.
A young man was drugged and repeatedly raped by a gang of three women in an ordeal that lasted three days.
The victim, who is 23 years old, had hailed a communal taxi in eastern Pretoria, South Africa, when he first encountered his alleged abusers.
As soon as he got in, the car started to drive in the wrong direction and he was ordered to get in the front seat.
The man was then forcibly injected with a substance. It’s not known what it was, but it reportedly caused him to immediately pass out.
‘He stated that he woke up in an unfamiliar room on a single bed,’ South African Police Service Captain Colette Weilbach told South African news site Times Live.
‘The female suspects then allegedly forced the man to drink an energy drink before taking turns raping him numerous times a day.
‘The South African Police Service takes all sexual offences seriously, regardless of gender. [We assure] all victims of these types of crimes that we will carry out robust investigations to bring offenders to justice.’
After the women were done with him, they left him partially clothed in a vacant field. Oh, the horror! He claimed he barely survived and flagged down a passing car for help. His life doesn’t sound like it was threatened to me. This sounds like a story he cooked up to either get attention or to create an excuse with a wife or girlfriend concerning his absence. In other words, a lie.
Many don’t have much sympathy for this guy and I’m one of them. His story seems just too ridiculous to me. Rape is not funny and should not be taken lightly. But making stuff up is also not okay. Almost 20% of the rapes in South Africa are men, who unsurprisingly are reluctant to come forward. But most of those are rapes by other men. Women raping men? Yeah, I’d need to see proof.
