NC Republican Headquarters Firebombed: “Nazi Republicans Get Out Of Town Or Else!” [VIDEO]

The GOP headquarters in North Carolina was firebombed last night and an adjacent building was vandalized. No one was hurt, but the office is a total loss. A Molotov cocktail was thrown through the office window in Hillsborough. The interior was set ablaze along with Trump yard signs. Vandals scrawled graffiti on the building that wasn’t torched. It said, ‘Nazi Republicans leave town or else’. A swastika was added for good measure. This is what it has come to with all the hate and viciousness in this campaign cycle.

The business that was vandalized was Balloons Above Orange. The owner told the Daily Mail: “This is the world we live in,” adding her shop is a “good billboard to aim towards the Republicans.” I agree with GOP officials, this is nothing short of political terrorism. The mayor calls it voter intimidation and he is also correct. He said the “hateful message undermines integrity in civic participation.”

From Fox News:

A Republican Party headquarters in North Carolina was firebombed and a nearby building was vandalized on Saturday night and police were hunting for those responsible on Sunday.

The inside of the Orange County Republican Party headquarters in Hillsborough was severely damaged and an adjacent building was marked with spray painted graffiti reading “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else,” The Charlotte Observer reported.

“The office itself is a total loss,” state GOP Executive Director Dallas Woodhouse said. “The only thing important to us is that nobody was killed, and they very well could have been.”

A bottle of flammable liquid was thrown through the front window of the office, burning furniture and charring some political signs before going out, police toldWNCN.

“This highly disturbing act goes far beyond vandalizing property; it willfully threatens our community’s safety via fire, and its hateful message undermines decency, respect and integrity in civic participation,” Hillsborough Mayor Tom Stevens said in a statement.

Dallas Woodhouse, the executive director of the GOP in NC, issued a statement that said: “Whether you are Republican, Democrat or Independent, all Americans should be outraged by this hate-filled and violent attack against our democracy. Whether the bomb was meant to kill, destroy property or intimidate voters, everyone in this country should be free to express their political viewpoints without fear for their own safety. We will be requesting additional security at all Republican Party offices and events between now and Election Day to ensure the safety of our activists, volunteers, and supporters.”

North Carolina’s Democratic Party Chair, Patsy Keever, was quick to respond as well: “I’m appalled that this would happen, certainly we don’t need violence for any reason. Clearly this is outrageous that anybody would do this kind of destruction to either party’s buildings or people.”

Looks like the good ole violent days of partisan politics are back. Police and officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are now investigating this crime. I suggest we all up our situational awareness out there and be very careful. Things are getting real and fast.

A bottle, filled with flammable substance, was thrown into a window, setting off a fire that scorched the interior of the building before the blaze burned itself out.
