President Trump’s DOJ Stepping In After Steinle Verdict – It’s Not Over

The Department of Justice is now considering pressing federal charges against the illegal alien who was accused of murdering California resident Kate Steinle. As you know, it is illegal for an undocumented person to reside within the borders of the United States and adding on top of that the illegal possession of the firearm that was used to murder the young woman, it stands to reason that the man would go away for life.

Jose Ines Garcia-Zarate was also awaiting his 6th deportation from the United States when he stole a gun from a BLM vehicle and used it to shoot Steinle, who was walking along a pier, minding her own business.

A San Francisco jury came back with the decision to only charge him for the possession of the firearm and he was acquitted of the murder charge. Because in 2017 America, it doesn’t matter what crime you commit, only if you INTENDED to commit the crime.

The illegal alien maintains that he found the gun wrapped in a shirt and when he picked it up, it “went off” and shot Steinle in the back. Zarate’s attorney begged the jury to return a not guilty verdict, even if they believed he was guilty of murder. While he said that Steinle’s death was tragic, “nothing you do is going to fix that.” Basically, “don’t send my client to jail because even though he is a murderer, it would be mean.” And as we all know, being mean is an offense punishable by banishment in California.

So, justice remains unserved, but hopefully the Trump DOJ can do something to fix that.

“We’re looking at every option and we will prosecute this to the fullest extent available under the law because these cases are tragic and entirely preventable,” said Sarah Isgur Flores, the DOJ Director of Public Affairs.

While it is still undetermined what charges Zarate would face (just pick a handful, and he’s probably guilty of the majority), she says the criminal reentry and violation of supervised release might be on the list.

“This is a person who had been deported five times and kept returning … he knew about their sanctuary policies,” Flores continued. “This is a person who never should have been on that pier, and Kate Steinle would still be alive today if he hadn’t been.”

Basically, it’s a crime to use the wrong pronouns in California and it’s a crime to unlawfully possess a handgun, but it’s not a crime to shoot an American citizen. I don’t care what you “intended” to do and I don’t care if it was an “accident,” that man never should have been in our country, he never should have gotten into that BLM vehicle and he never should have had access to that firearm. He is a criminal through and through and deserves the death penalty for cutting a beautiful life short.
