Clown Lives Matter

When #ClownLivesMatter has been trending on Twitter, you know you are living in 2016. Fittingly, considering the political situation, America is under siege by creepy clowns, whose antics range from unnerving pranks to actual assault:

People have been arrested. Schools have sent out warning letters. Social media is crawling with creepy, homemade clown videos. And it came up at the White House media briefing this week.

Disproportionate black crime resulted in Black Lives Matter. In a surreal echo, the epidemic of weirdos wreaking havoc while wearing sinister clown costumes has produced Clown Lives Matter:

Organizers are planning a “Clown Lives Matter” march for October 15 in Tucson in reaction to the recent spate of frightening incidents — both real and imagined — spread in the news and on social media.

The march will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 on 4th Avenue in Tucson. Attendees are invited to show up wearing full clown makeup or masks.

The intended message is that clowns aren’t creepy; they are just misunderstood. I hope no one shows up at the rally looking like this guy:
