Karma Just Caught Up with Bruce Jenner… Life As He Knows It May Be About Over

I find the whole Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner thing massively confusing and depressing. I remember when he was an Olympic champion. His face was all over Wheaties’ cereal boxes as I was growing up. Now, he is a she, but still has socks in his drawers. Ummm, yeah. But just before the monumental unveiling of the transgender superstar icon, Jenner was in a horrific car accident that left a 69 year-old woman dead. The pictures were just gruesome. Allegedly, Jenner was not paying attention on the freeway and wound up hitting and pushing this woman’s Lexus into oncoming traffice where she was smashed into by a Hummer. She never had a chance and precious little has been said about the accident since Jenner’s new rise to fame. But all that may be about to change as investigators have found sufficient cause to charge Jenner with vehicular manslaughter.

Bruce Jenner

From the Conservative Tribune:

Before the Olympian formerly known as Bruce Jenner tried to capture the hearts and minds of progressives and LGBT activists around the world by transforming into a woman, he was involved in a vehicle accident in February that left one person dead.

The gross amount of media attention surrounding Jenner’s transformation seemed to sweep the horrific details of the Pacific Coast Highway crash under the proverbial rug — at least for a while.

According the Associated Press, sheriff’s investigators looking into the fatal multi-vehicle accident have now recommended that Jenner be charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Nicole Nishida, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, reported that investigators found that Jenner’s driving was “unsafe for the prevailing road conditions,” which caused Jenner’s vehicle to push the one in front of it into oncoming traffic.

Kim Howe, the deceased 69-year-old driver of the Lexus pushed into traffic by Jenner’s vehicle, was struck by a Hummer as it entered the intersection as a result of the collision.

The charge of vehicular manslaughter would be a misdemeanor. Whether or not to pursue it will be a decision ultimately made by the district attorney, according to Fox News.

Should Jenner be charged and found guilty, it could mean up to a one-year stint in the county jail — probably the last place that a transgendered former athlete wants to call home.

Jenner has also been sued by the families impacted as a result of the fatal accident; that lawsuit is still pending.

A charge of vehiclular manslaughter doesn’t seem like it’s becoming of a recipient of the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. Perhaps ESPN will reconsider awarding it to an actual courageous person instead.

My take on this is that Jenner will never serve prison time even if convicted. He’ll get community service and probation of some sort. That’s just how it works with celebrities usually. Unless they just do crimes over and over that is, which isn’t the case here. Jenner will be sued and will probably wind up paying a huge settlement to the family of that woman and others impacted by the accident. He’ll have to pony up, but I’m sure with his wealth, that will be quietly handled. It was a horrible accident and there is little doubt Jenner is at fault, but he didn’t intend for it to happen. I may not agree with his lifestyle choices, but I think that justice will probably be done in this case outside of a prison cell. As far as being courageous – that award should have gone somewhere else, not to someone who can’t decide which toilet to use.
