Michael Dukakis Writes A Letter And Testifies For A Friend Who Lied To Help The Boston Bomber

So, Dukakis just can’t understand how[1] justice would be served by throwing this dirt bag’s arse in jail and letting him rot. Huh. He probably also doesn’t understand what the big fuss is over the Boston Bombers’ blowing up a little boy the way they did. He just doesn’t get it. Spoken like a true Progressive sociopath. I don’t usually condone guilt by association, but when I do it involves terrorists. This guy lied to the FBI. They only nailed him on five of nine counts. His defense was that he was freaking high out of his mind and didn’t know what was going on. You know, kind of like Michael Dukakis.

From Weasel Zippers:

Don’t let the fact that you should care more about Boston than this pond scum stop ya, Governor!

Via Associated Press[2]:

Two college friends of marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were sentenced Friday to prison after one tearfully apologized to the residents of Boston for impeding the investigation and the other had a show of support from former Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis.

Azamat Tazhayakov, 21, was sentenced to 3½ years for impeding the investigation into the attack while authorities frantically searched for the bombers. He was convicted of conspiracy and obstruction of justice for agreeing with another friend to remove Tsarnaev’s backpack from his dorm room at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. The backpack contained fireworks that had been emptied of their explosive powder.

Later Friday, Robel Phillipos was given a three-year sentence for lying to the FBI about being in Tsarnaev’s dorm room days after the bombings. The judge said Phillipos was to blame for a “substantial diversion” of law enforcement resources.

“There’s a price to be paid for the failure of responsibility,” Judge Douglas Woodlock said.

Prosecutors had asked for a sentence of a little more than five years in prison. Phillipos’ lawyers had asked for two years of home confinement. The sentence ultimately given to Phillipos was the most lenient penalty imposed on the three friends who were charged.

Dukakis, a friend of Phillipos’ family and the 1988 Democratic presidential nominee, wrote a letter of support for him and even testified during his trial.

In his letter to the judge, Dukakis wrote that he “can’t understand why justice would be served by incarcerating him.”

Phillipos was accused of telling nine lies to the FBI but was acquitted of four of them. The jury rejected the government’s claim that he lied when he said he did not see anyone take Tsarnaev’s backpack and did not see any fireworks.

If Phillipos had told the truth, the cop these Jihadists murdered in cold blood might still be alive. And I don’t buy all of these ‘friends’ of Tsarnaev’s who say they condemn what he did. They helped hide evidence and impede an investigation. As far as I’m concerned, they got off way too light and should be in the deepest, darkest hole they could find for the rest of their lives. Justify this crap to that little boy’s family. I’ll never get those pictures from that day out of my mind of the dead and wounded. Phillipos got five years, but only three in jail… two are at home and he’s appealing. Heck, he’ll probably never serve time if Dukakis gets his way. If there is no price to pay for evil deeds and intentions, then criminals are emboldened and up their game. That is what you are seeing across the country and it is thanks to the likes of Progressives like Michael Dukakis who doesn’t give a damn if a little boy is blown to bits or a cop is snuffed out. You are known by your friends and your enemies and that clearly defines who Dukakis is now doesn’t it?
