Thug Tries to Take Texan Hostage… Gets INSTANT Justice

This was a perfectly handled[1] tense hostage situation. Well done. In Irving, a thug made the fatal mistake of robbing a Cash Store. An employee set off an alarm and the police got their immediately. Said thug then thought it would be a great idea to grab a female hostage and put a gun to her head. He told the officers that if they came near him, he would kill her. He then started maneuvering to get her into a car and leave. The cops weren’t about to let that happen. One of the officers got his trusty patrol rifle out of his SUV and settled in to take the bad guy out. He got the guy in his sights and boom! Problem solved.

Justice[2]

From Bearing Arms:

Officers responded around 1 p.m. to an armed robbery in-progress at the Cash Store near SH-183 and Esters Road. An employee inside the store had triggered the alarm, said Irving police spokesman James McLellan.

When police arrived, the robbery suspect took a female employee hostage and walked outside with her. He told the officers that he would hurt the employee if they approached him, McLellan said.

The suspect, who has not been identified, threatened to put the woman inside a vehicle. Police did not say whose vehicle it was. The officers then shot the man, who was armed with a handgun.

The two officers will be placed on routine administrative leave. McLellan called them “heroes.”

“The two officers were here quickly, within minutes and were able to engage the suspect,” he said. “They couldn’t let him leave with the hostage … By all appearances this was the last resort for them.”

The female hostage was unharmed.

The hostage was not hurt and was just glad to get out of there alive. The officers are on routine leave as the shooting is investigated, but they are being hailed as heroes as they should be. The officer with the rifle took a perfect headshot and then there was no more thug to worry about. He effectively removed himself from the gene pool. Good riddance. Thank goodness these officers were armed with AR-15s. Christopher Michael Dew, 29, made the worst decision of his life that day and he paid for it with that life. He was convicted of aggravated robbery in 2007. Looks like he was a slow learner. Friday’s armed robbery was not the first reported at the store. It was also robbed on Jan. 13th. In all, about a dozen check-cashing stores across the Dallas-Fort Worth area have been robbed since November, including the Jan. 7th hold-up of a store in north Irving. Somehow I think the thugs will give this place a wide berth for at least a while.
