A Desperate Raul Grijalva Panics

Countermoonbat challenger Ruth McClung[1] has ultra-left congresscritter Raul Grijalva, a traitor to both his state[2] and his country[3], running scared enough to panic — unless he actually thinks anyone is buying this, from yesterday’s Arizona Daily Scar[4]:

U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva’s congressional office is closed this afternoon as police respond to a suspicious piece of mail.

An envelope arrived with swastikas drawn on the outside and a white powdery substance on the inside, said Adam Sarvana, Grijalva’s spokesman.

Gosh, that’s almost as awful as hanging a noose on a black victimology professor’s door[5] when she’s about to be brought up on plagiarism charges.

Who would do such a thing? Pima County Democratic Party Chairman Jeff Rogers wastes no time telling us:

Rogers blames this action on the kind of rhetoric coming out of the tea party and right-wing Republicans.

“It’s disappointing and I think it’s directly related to the level of rhetoric,” Rogers said. “That kind of level of rhetoric is what leads people to do crazy things. They have a responsibility to [quack quack quack lie smear lie].”

Somewhere amid Keith Olbermann’s dwindling audience there may be a dimwit confused enough to take this load seriously. Only the most clueless moonbat would associate swastikas with the Tea Party.

Back in the world of grownups, Publius Pundit[6] provides a little background:

Just hours after the Yuma Sun reports[7] that 3000 voter registrations had been dumped at the Yuma County Recorder’s Office by a group affiliated with the SEIU[8] (with most of them subsequently found to be fraudulent[9]), Raul Grijalva’s office received a suspicious package covered in swastikas with a white powder inside.

Now the story about the suspicious package — the “terrorist attack” as Grijalva puts it — has gone national, and the voter fraud story has gone unnoticed by the mainstream media. How convenient, right?

Raul Grijalva part-time staffer Emily Romero has repeatedly bragged to Democratic insiders that the campaign concocts these threats to take attention away from bad publicity. In this case, the campaign decided to fake a “terrorist attack” on themselves to cover up the story of voter fraud that had just broken.

What is most interesting is that the DCCC [Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee] reported the suspicious package to the media long before the local authorities were even told about the situation. Plus, one has to ask, how does an envelope marked with swastikas and full of white powder make it successfully through the postal system these days?

But we shouldn’t jump to the obvious conclusion that the race-baiting[10] Grijalva campaign put together the package themselves until we learn what the powder is. It could be soap, which any number of people would like the conspicuously poorly groomed Grijalva to discover.

If it turns out to be detergent, let’s hope Grijalva takes the hint.
