Breaking the Law from the Bench: Gay Judge Refuses to Marry Straight Couples [Video]

The hypocrisy is thick with this one.[1] A gay judge in Texas is refusing to marry straight couples. She is doing it to teach straight people a lesson about the equality of marriage. This is totally different than Kim Davis taking a principled stand on her constitutional right of religious freedom. This is breaking the law willfully from the bench and this judge should be held accountable for it. But has there even been a peep about this in the media? Nope and there certainly hasn’t been any consequences for this judge’s rogue actions. Seems like the government and legal entities are only applying said ‘law’ to one side of the political spectrum. Whatever happened to justice for all?

Gay Judge[2]

From Red Rock Tribune:

Once again, the liberal media is proving that there’s no such thing as unbiased news reporting. In the wake of all the cases involving same-sex couples being turned down by county clerks and businesses, it would seem the tables have been drastically turned. This time it’s a gay judge refusing to perform straight weddings. And what are the legal repercussions for such an act? The answer is simple . . . nothing. Where’s the outrage? Where’s the government interference? It’s non-existent, because they’re pretending the problem doesn’t exist.

Texas judge, Tonya Parker claims her decision to refuse straight marriages is her opportunity to teach straight couples a lesson about equality in marriage. Why is it that when the shoes are turned it garners a storm of media attention and lawyers get involved?

The Dallas County Judge Tonya Parker explained her decision at a monthly meeting for the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas.

“I do not perform them because it is not an equal application of the law. Period,” she said, according to the Dallas Voice, a newspaper for the gay community.

Parker is believed to be the first openly “gay” African-American elected official in the history of the state, according to NY Daily news.

Parker told the audience that while she refuses to conduct the ceremonies, she explains her reasoning to the couples.

“I use it as my opportunity to give them a lesson about marriage equality in the state because I feel like I have to tell them why I’m turning them away,” she said.

This woman took an oath to uphold the law. Performing marriages does not violate her religious beliefs, if she even has any. So why is this being tolerated? Where is the judicial oversight on this in Texas? Where is the Bar Association? Christians are being forced to bake cakes, take photos, sign licenses and perform ceremonies because people are gay – which is immoral and unconstitutional. Now, gay judges are punishing straight couples because they are straight. This is seriously messed up. There’s no tolerance here. There’s vindictiveness and a prevailing attitude that borders on fascistic in nature. Unlike gay couples, I’m sure these couples went and found another judge. But if it were me, I would file a complaint and make a scene over this one to teach this judge a ‘lesson.’
