Good Grief! New Study Says I’m A Democrat!

Why? Because I like Jeep. I have 2006 Jeep Liberty (bought it in 2009 with 9,500 miles on it). Wendy’s is my favorite fast food place (spicy chicken combo!). I do prefer Dunkin Donuts coffee to Starbucks, though. Many of my answers to the other questions might be a bit different than either

(Forbes[1]) Democrats and Republicans disagree on more than just policy issues. Neuromarketing firm Buyology, Inc.[2] released the results of a new study[3] that measured conscious and non-conscious brand preferences for subjects who identified with the two major political parties in the U.S. Even in common consumer categories like cars and sandwiches, they found few areas of agreement between blue and red subjects. While both Democrats and Republicans did like Coca Cola, Visa[4], Google[5], Apple[6], and Olay in their respective product groups, they had distinctly different preferences in these categories:

Democrats Republicans
Most Desired Car Jeep BMW
Most Desired Electronics Sony[7] Sharp[8]
Most Desired Insurance Progressive Allstate
Most Desired TV Channel Animal Planet History Channel
Most Desired Restaurant Wendy’s Subway
Most Desired Sports NFL MLB
Most Desired Coffee Shop Starbucks Dunkin’ Donuts
Most Desired Gaming System Wii XBOX

Interesting. I’m not a big fan of BMW. I usually avoid Subway since their products tend to have an MSG-like product in it, and I’m really allergic to it. Gives me chest wall inflammation and massive allergy attacks. I prefer the NHL at the top. When it comes to baseball, I only watch the Dodgers, but will watch whatever NFL game is on. I use neither of those insurance companies, and couldn’t care less about the gaming system (I would prefer PC). I’d prefer the Science Channel, Smithsonian, or H2 (History Channel 2), though I love both Animal Planet (which is showing too many River Monsters episodes) and the History Channel. I find Sony to be too expensive.

Funny how a big gas guzzler is a favorite of Liberals. I would have though Subaru or Prius. Or Chevy Feugo, er, Volt, but, no one likes those.

Can’t find the full study with all the questions and responses. What are you favorites? Where do you stand on this study?
