Media Liars Slamming Wisc. Gov. Walker for Abortion Quote He Never Even Said

This is a perfect story that shows how the “news” media are programed by far left, activist, astroturf organizations instead of pursuing the real news. This time several media outlets are smearing Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker with a supposed quote on abortion that he never even said.

This is also a perfect example of how the media liars edit things together to make them comport to the media’s ideological agenda.

In this case, Governor Walker was talking about a law he signed in 2013 that makes an ultra sound mandatory for women wanting an abortion. During an interview Walker defended the law and then went on to say that people love ultra sounds because the procedure is a “cool thing.”

But these mediots took the words “forced ultra sound” and Walker saying “cool thing” and came up with the false quote that Gov. Walker said “forced ultra sounds are a cool thing.”

The media got this lie from a left-wing, paid activist site called Right-Wing Watch, a website that looks for things conservatives say then twist them and lie about what was said.

Here is the exact Walker quote:

“Most people I talk to, whether they’re pro-life or not, I find people all the time who’ll get out their iPhone and show me a picture of their grandkids’ ultrasound and how excited they are, so that’s a lovely thing. I think about my sons are 19 and 20, you know we still have their first ultrasound picture. It’s just a cool thing out there.”

Notice he was saying that the ultra sound procedure itself is a “cool thing.” He was not talking about his law in this quite.

But, as T. Becket Adams reports[1], here is what the media did with that quote…

On Wednesday, multiple newsrooms appeared to follow Right Wing Watch’s lead.

Talking Points Memo published a headline that read, “Scott Walker: Mandatory Ultrasounds Are ‘Just A Cool Thing’ For Women.”

“Potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) said in an interview on Friday that mandatory ultrasounds for women hoping to get an abortion was ‘just a cool thing,'” read the opening paragraph to TPM’s write up of the Walker interview.

Politico published a story with the headline, “Scott Walker on mandatory ultrasounds: ‘It’s just a cool thing out there.'” That headline has since been amended so that it now reads, “Scott Walker defends mandatory ultrasounds.”

The Week chimed in, “Scott Walker defends mandatory ultrasounds: They’re ‘just a cool thing.'”

Not to be outdone, Salon claimed in its write-up of Walker’s remarks that he said, “Women should be forced to have transvaginal ultrasounds because they are ‘a cool thing.'”

Raw Story also jumped in with a story titled, “Scott Walker: Women should be forced to have ultrasounds because they’re ‘a cool thing.'”

Then there was Mother Jones, which published a report titled, “Scott Walker Says Mandatory Ultrasounds Are ‘Just a Cool Thing’ for Women.”

Once again we see the media being programed by Soros-paid, left-wing liars.
