Over the last 2 or 3 years Colorado has been swinging back from the ultra strict gun-banning laws the state’s Democrats imposed on the Centennial State back starting in 2012. Now a new poll shows that the state’s voters are not done opposing tougher gun control laws.

The newest poll[1] showing that Colorado’s voters oppose gun control was released this week by the famed Quinnipiac University polling unit.

The poll showed voters oppose such laws 56-39 percent, with a 80-18 percent opposition among Republicans. Independent voters oppose tougher laws by 59-35 percent while Democrats support tougher laws 76-19 percent.

According to the poll, men oppose tougher laws 69-27 percent, while women support them 51-44 percent.

The poll, completed as part of a swing state gauge that also included Iowa and Virginia, questioned 1,231 Colorado voters with a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points.

You may remember that in 2013 two Democrat state senators were recalled and lost their political jobs[2] for voting for the strict gun control laws. One was the actual president of the senate!

The poll also found that most Coloradans support the death penalty for Aurora Theater Killer James Holmes a 63 in favor with only 32 opposed.
