Snap! Let’s Make US Children Into “Good Environmental Citizens”

Interestingly, liberals cry “foul”, gnash their teeth, whine, go force 8 moonbat, when people like Glenn Beck and Jonah Goldberg compare the Left, and the Obama admin, to old style progressives, calling them “nice fascists,” and expose the dictatorial style. Yet, again and again, we are given examples that pundits like Beck and Goldberg are, in fact, entirely correct, such as this

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan vowed on Tuesday[1] that his department would work to make American children into “good environmental citizens” through federally subsidized school programs beginning as early as kindergarten that teach children about climate change and prepare them “to contribute to the workforce through green jobs.”

“Right now, in the second decade of the 21st century, preparing our children to be good environmental citizens is some of the most important work any of us can do. It’s work that will serve future generations–and quite literally sustain our world,” Duncan said at the Education Department’s “Sustainability Education Summit: Citizenship and Pathways for a Green Economy.”

Right now, Mao and Lenin are smiling. But, then, progressives have long used our public schools as indoctrination centers. They do not want a free thinking citizen: they want a sheep who will do as they say (not as they do), and will make no waves. Someone who feels and uses talking points rather than actually looking at the issue, reviewing the evidence, and making a rational, thought induced decision. Despite all the money we pour into our public school system, our children rank low in math and science compared to the rest of the world. They do very well in socialization skills, though.

Duncan said that his department’s “Blueprint for Reform” envisions environmental education being incorporated into so-called “STEM” classes (“science, technology, engineering and mathematics”) for students as young as kindergarten.

“These projects have the prospect to build the science of sustainability into the curriculum, starting in kindergarten and extending until the students graduate high school,” said Duncan.

This is not education: it is thought control. Which explains why Democrat voters are so utterly clueless as to the impact of the policies they mindlessly vote for. And why the Left is so dead set against charter schools and home schooling. They do not want kids to learn: they want them to become good little Democrat voters. Fortunately, brainwashing can be reversed over time, which is why as each poll comes out, fewer and fewer people believe in the idiocy of globull warming.
