Stupak’s Fig Leaf Blows Away in the Wind

Anyone surprised by this needs to sit in the corner under a tall pointy hat: The bogus “executive order” offered as a fig leaf (along with a $726,409[1] payoff) to the self-styled “pro-life” Democrat Bart Stupak has been shrugged off[2] by our avidly pro-abortion president.

President Obama signed the Senate health care bill into law Tuesday. He did not sign the executive order on abortion negotiated with Michigan Democratic Congressman Bart Stupak in an 11th-hour arrangement that may well have saved the entire health care reform effort.

A White House official told Fox, Obama will not sign the Executive Order Tuesday and has set no specific date to do so. Stupak predicted Obama would sign the order later this week. The White House said only that Obama would sign the order “soon.”

What’s the rush? The order would be trumped by the ObamaCare bill anyway, as everyone including Stupak knew all along.

Meanwhile Stupak has been comparing the meaningless and nonexistent executive order to the Emancipation Proclamation.

At least he’s consistent. Stupak supports not only ObamaCare, but also the Holocaust-scale nationwide abortion mill Planned Parenthood[3]:

“I don’t think I ever voted to de-fund Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood does not do abortions… in my district. Planned Parenthood has a number of clinics in my district that provide health care for my people. Therefore, these clinics do quite well in my district, and I’m all for health care and extending it to everybody—access to health care, so that’s just another way.”

The healthcare offered by federally subsidized Planned Parenthood clinics in Stupak’s district prominently includes abortion referral, as you would expect of an organization founded on an ideological commitment to prenatal ethnic cleansing. But so long as they don’t kill the babies personally, it’s fine with Stupak if they herd pregnant women toward those who do.

If there is anything less appealing than a corrupt, baby-killing Democrat, it’s a corrupt, baby-killing Democrat who pretends to know the difference between right and wrong. Thankfully November should rid us of this sick parody of a principled politician.

Stupak letting us know in advance that his “principles” were a sham.
