Vatican Defends Communist Crucifix, Pope Slams Capitalism as ‘Dung of the Devil’

Yesterday Bolivia’s Marxist Presidente Evo Morales gave Pope Francis a hammer and sickle Crucifix. While the Pope may have leaned toward refusing the “gift,” today the Vatican is defending the heretical artwork claiming that it is somehow a legitimate “dialog” and a “commitment to freedom.” Yeah, the Vatican is saying that communists are now “freedom” fighters. But it goes along with what the Pope said later as he attacked capitalism… AGAIN!

Here is what the Vatican said[1] today…

The crucifix is a replica, originally designed by Jesuit activist Luis Espinal, who was assassinated in 1980 by suspected paramilitaries during the months that preceded a military coup. Even though the Vatican was not expecting the unusual gift, it is seeking to explain the “Communist crucifix” given to Francis, saying it’s a symbol of dialogue and not an offensive melding of faith and ideology.

The man many are deriding as the red pope was all smiles as Morales gave him the communist flavored “crucifix,” and later went before a crowd of thousands to slam capitalism.

Later the Pope went before a crowd to attack capitalism[2]… again!

Pope Francis on Thursday launched a blistering attack on the “new colonialism” of austerity, describing unfettered capitalism as “the dung of the devil” and apologising for the Catholic church’s role in the conquest of indigenous populations in the Americas.

So, he is against “austerity”–meaning he is for confiscatory taxes and widening government power–and he attacks capitalism for the umpteenth time.

And before you Catholic excuses get your high dudgeon up and say he only attacked “unfettered capitalism” and not “normal capitalism,” stop with your disingenuousness. There is no such thing as “unfettered capitalism” and never was. This pope stands against the one system that has brought billions out of poverty.

Francis is a disaster for Catholic in particular and the west in general.
