Weinergate: Police Talk To 17 Year Old

NEW CASTLE, Del.[1] — Police on Friday afternoon came to the home of a 17-year-old high school junior to ask her about direct online communications she has had with Rep. Anthony Weiner[2].

Two officers from the New Castle County Police Department arrived at the girl’s home around 4:30 p.m. and asked to speak with the girl’s mother about the daughter’s contact with Weiner. Another officer appeared at the home a short time later. A FoxNews.com reporter was at the home when the police arrived.

The police left the home after about 30 minutes, followed by the daughter and mother, who left in a separate car. It was not clear if the mother and daughter were going to continue the conversation with police at another location.

Remember, I (and others) discussed the possibility[3] that the Weiner Affair could get much, much worse, stepping beyond the simply inappropriate and morally repugnant conduct, as well as a violation of House rules for using official, and taxpayer funded, resources, and moving on to what is actually a felony[4] if he knew they were underage. He could still be charged with a felony even if he didn’t know.
