The #Resistance might not be the powerful force they want to make themselves appear to be. While the Women’s March and the Inauguration Day protests were large events due in part to the media publicizing them, these casual statements made by people who have nothing better to do with their Saturday appear to be dying down.

Maybe people just don’t want to spend a perfectly good weekend being miserable, angry and covered in black clothing during the summer? Just a thought.

You might want to take a seat for this, because you might actually fall over laughing.

An Atlanta “Resistance” rally suffered from a severe case of failure to launch. The local news station, Fox 5 Atlanta, posted a video from the location of the event and it is positively glorious.

Their intention? “Affect people, to shock people, to move people into action.” Something tells me a handful of fools with some pre-printed signs and a cutout of Trump’s head with a Hitler mustache isn’t going to “move people into action” unless you count power-walking past your crazy setup.

Even the local news admitted that the “rally” never really took off.

In Atlanta, at least a dozen activists held signs and chanted as they stood near the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site on Auburn Avenue. Around 1:15 p.m., organizers announce protestors will begin to march along the Atlanta’s Beltline, a popular westside trail, to “affect people, to shock people, to move people into action.”

A dozen. 12. Twelve. That’s how many people showed up to protest the President.

Now don’t get me wrong, you need to stand for your beliefs even if you’re standing alone. That being said, if you’re only managing a dozen people at your event on a weekend, you might want to ask yourself if your mission statement is something that could really take off.
