Man, I must be out of touch.[1] I’ve never even heard of Grubhub. They are evidently an online food delivery service. The CEO Matt Maloney, who is an ardent Hillary Clinton supporter, really stepped in it. He wrote an uber nasty letter to his pro-Trump staff, stating if they didn’t agree with his letter, they should quit. Guess what? Their stock immediately took a dive. It dropped 4 points. Once again, an idiot misjudges his demographic audience and it costs him.

Soon after the nosedive in the market, the CEO walked back his anti-Trump comments and said his company supports all political viewpoints. Do tell. Got scared by our stock price did we? You know, the board of that company should fire this guy immediately if they want to save face. He’s now a liability.

From Gateway Pundit:

WOW!

The CEO of Grubhub, an online food delivery service, told Pro-Trump employees to resign this week.

Matt Maloney, a Hillary supporter, told employees who agree with President-elect Donald Trump’s behaviors and his campaign rhetoric should resign.

He sent employees this letter.

Maloney went off on Donald Trump and then added: “If you don not agree with this statement then please reply to this letter with your resignation.”

The Grubhub stock tanked several points after Maloney’s letter went public.

What a moron this guy is. He just couldn’t keep it to himself. No, he had to do a letter and put it out all over the place. How does someone like that become the CEO of a growing enterprise? He talks about a culture of inclusiveness and then turns around and alienates anyone for Trump. He’s clueless AND a hypocrite. He closes his letter with Hillary saying that Trump deserves a chance in office… right after he tells anyone who doesn’t agree 1000 percent with him to resign. Nice.

The CEO made it clear[5] he’s particularly concerned Trump’s victory will empower others in his workplace to act out against marginalized groups. I sincerely doubt that would ever happen and he knows it. Maloney went on to say that if Trump worked there he would have been fired long ago… but he doesn’t and he doesn’t answer to the likes of Maloney. The CEO also said fully 20 percent of his employees thanked him for the letter. What? Did the rest resign?

The CEO said that he deeply respects the right of people to vote for whoever they decide to, but that he simply wanted to “reassure our employees that our company will actively support diversity and inclusion — regardless of national politics.” But that’s not what he said – see letter.

This CEO is young and brash. Next time he might want to keep his politics to himself. If I worked there, I’d be looking for a new job of my own accord. If I owned his stock, I’d be selling it… now.
