Muslim Father Who Attacked Trump Claims Terror Has Nothing To Do With Islam

The father of a Muslim American soldier who lost his life over a decade ago in Iraq and who spoke about his son’s loss on stage at the Democrat national convention is now appearing on political TV shows and claiming that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism.

Waving a copy of the U.S. Constitution and with his silent wife by his side, Khizr Khan attacked Donald Trump at the convention saying Trump had “sacrificed nothing” and slammed the GOP nominee for his policy of putting a temporary halt to immigration from terror-stricken Muslim countries.

But now Mr. Khan is touring the Sunday political talk shows and insisting that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism.

On CNN today, Khan made this claim:

Muslims hate this menace of terrorism as much as any other place. It is our duty to keep this country, our country, beautiful country, safe. We have always thought of [it] that way, we will continue to do our part to keep it safe and beautiful. What he cites in the name of Islam, and all that — that is not Islam at all! I wish he would have, somebody would have put something in his head that these are terrorists, these are criminals, these folks have nothing to do with Islam.

Mr. Khan isn’t alone in his claim that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism. His silent wife is also now making the same outrageous claim in an Op Ed at the Washington Post.

For his part, Donald Trump thinks their claim is idiotic.

So, are they right? Is Islam totally innocent of terrorism?
