Trump To NRA ‘You Had My Back, Now I Have Yours’ – Our President Is About To Come Through BIG! [VIDEO]

President Trump did what hasn’t been done since Reagan was in office… as President he addressed the NRA. And he was quick to let them know that since they came through for him, he would come through for them. You already see some of the benefits of Trump being President in regards to the NRA in California. A whole string of lawsuits have been filed to overturn unconstitutional gun mandates there, starting with the assault weapons ban. Trump invoked the beloved memory of Charlton Heston, who was a tireless leader of the NRA and a determined fighter for gun rights until the day he passed away.

President Trump is vowing that the persecution of gun owners and their rights in America is coming to an end. I hope and pray that is true. Never have Marxists exerted so much effort to abridge a constitutional right as they had done with the Second Amendment. That’s because an armed America is a free America. The first thing communists always do is go after the guns. See Venezuela. Then see Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.

During his April 28 speech to the NRA’s Leadership Forum in Atlanta, President Donald Trump told the audience, “You came through for me and I am going to come through for you.”

Trump began his speech by thanking NRA-ILA executive director Chris Cox and NRA senior Vice President Wayne LaPierre for their hard work in defending freedom.

He recalled days gone by in the NRA, saying, “No one was more proud to be an American than the beloved patriot Charlton Heston. I remember Charlton, he was out there fighting when maybe a lot of people didn’t want to be fighting.”

Trump then turned his attention to his own presidency, saying, “Only one candidate in the general came to speak to you and that candidate is now the president of the United States, standing before you again.” He added, “You came through for me, and I am going to come through for you.”

He said, “We have news that you’ve been waiting for a long time–the eight-year assault on your Second Amendment freedoms has come to a crashing end… No longer will federal agencies be coming after law-abiding gun owners.” He said, “We want to ensure you of the sacred right of self-defense of all our citizens” and observed, “The right of self-defense is essential to public safety.”

Trump continued by saying: “Our police and sheriffs know that when you ban guns, only the criminals will be armed.” And that is exactly right… it is what I have been saying forever. This is why cities such as Chicago are such killing fields… only the bad guys are armed and they outnumber the police. President Trump then promised: “I will never, ever infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Freedom is not a gift from government, freedom is a gift from God.” Yes, it is and well said.

Trump gave this speech on the eve of his 100th day in office. It was an apropos address and shows where his priorities lie. In John Hawkins’ New book, ‘101 Things All Young Adults Should Know’, he teaches in chapter 84 of the book, “There is safety in numbers.” That has always been the consensus of the NRA… the more members they have, the stronger they are to fight against those who would strip us of our right to bear arms. President Trump knows this. It’s why he’s a member and a supporter of the National Rifle Association.
