Washington Post: Trump’s Attacks On Hillary’s (Poor) Health Sickening Or Something

Ruth Marcus is Very Upset over anyone daring to question the health of Hillary Clinton, because no one should question the Queen, and it makes her sick. Especially since Ruth drags in the sexxxxxism card

Trump’s Sickening attacks on Clinton’s health

Donald Trump — he who likes to fly home at night in the comfort of his own plane to sleep in the comfort of his own bed — is at it again on the question of Hillary Clinton’s stamina, or alleged lack thereof.

“To defeat crime and radical Islamic terrorism in our country, to win trade in our country, you need tremendous physical and mental strength and stamina,” he said in Wisconsin. “Hillary Clinton doesn’t have that strength and stamina.”

And a day earlier, in case you missed it, “Importantly, she also lacks the mental and physical stamina to take on ISIS, and all the many adversaries we face.”

It’s obvious what’s going on here. The strength-stamina combo is a gender-age twofer, a double whack at Clinton for the price of one. Strength, what men have and women lack; stamina, with its intimations of go-all-night virility. Clinton, in this depiction, is both a weak girl and a dried-up old crone.

Or, it could be a: a valid concern due to all the falls, the inability to walk up stairs, wearing long jackets to cover the adult diapers (as some have hintimated), special glasses to deal with double vision, a possible brain aneurysm, strange head ticks, etc., or b: this is a campaign, and the majority of the media will not help in attacking Clinton, since she’s a Democrat, so, Trump and his forces have to do it.

No matter that Trump is a year and four months older — and, for that matter, endures a far less rigorous schedule. In Trump World, what counts is the attack, not the truth.

But, Trump is not having those same potential health problems. Hillary is. Ruth’s apoplexy continues for a while, ending with

But the Trump & Co. attack on Clinton’s health, with its undertones of ageism and sexism, has no basis in reality, and no place in a presidential campaign. It would be tempting to say this is beneath even Trump, except that it isn’t.

No place, huh? How about all the sexist attacks on Sarah Palin, for one? How about all the age related attacks on John McCain? The demands for more and more health records from McCain, while asking for nothing from Obama? The “just wondering” attacks on McCain’s eligibility to serve because he was born in the Panama Canal zone, and a totally unfounded report that he had an affair? These came from the media, liberal pundits, and Democrats.

How about the attacks on George Bush for his past alcoholism, wondering whether he could still serve? Unfounded attacks that his wife was doing cocaine? These came from the media, liberal pundits, and Democrats.

Mitt Romney was actually in very good health, so, he was attacked for his Mormonism. And how many articles were spent on or mentioned the dog on the roof or a stupid haircutting incident 60 years ago? How many went after “magic underwear”?

Obama didn’t need to personally go after McCain or Romney. Kerry didn’t need to go after Bush. Their media allies did it for them, just as they go after Trump today. Hillary’s health is a valid concern. If she had an R after her name, Ruth and the rest of the media would be deeply concerned and digging deep. Remember, the Washington Post, along with many media outlets, sent huge numbers of reporters to Alaska to comb through Palin’s emails, while also asking them to be crowd-sourced. Yet, not only is there no interest in investigating Hillary’s health, they are defending her.

If Trump was taking lots of time off the campaign trail, had an email from employees saying he was “easily confused”, others that discussed his napping and inability to get out of bed, if he was falling, etc and so on, you can bet that vast numbers of reporters would be detailed to investigate, and this would be front page news with lots of “wondering” stories, as well as opinion pieces.
