What will American society be like if it continues on its current lunatic trajectory for another 5 years or so? The answer is already on display on college campuses:
A petition circulating among University of California students calls for UC Irvine officials to remove a U.S. Customs and Border Protection booth from the school’s upcoming fall career fair, saying the agency’s presence will make the campus unsafe for students in the country illegally.
This is the equivalent of throwing military recruiters out of the career fair on the grounds that it makes the campus unsafe for marauding foreign armies.
There are more than 500 students at UC Irvine who identify as undocumented students, according to the petition, which goes on to call the border an “arbitrary boundary line that serves to control migration” and states that the term “illegal immigration” is dehumanizing.
I wonder how many “identify” as drug dealers. They had better ban police from the campus lest these students feel unsafe.
The Border Patrol also stands accused of “racial profiling.” It is forbidden to notice that the vast majority of the hordes invading across the Mexican border to sign up for lavish welfare benefits at our expense share certain physical characteristics.
UC Irvine is the same campus at which, last semester, a group of student government leaders voted to ban the American flag from hanging in an administrative building, calling the flag offensive to some students.
That time the moonbats were overruled due to public outcry (although students and professors alike groused about it). But this time the outcome was more typical; the shrieking, irrational totalitarians got their way. The Border Patrol crawled away with its tail between its legs.
