The “Police Brutality” Video That Has #BlackLivesMatter Going Ballistic…

…you’ll have to decide for yourself whether this is really as bad as they make out. It seems like, as with most issues, the race-hustlers are a bit out of touch with the rest of the country[1].

WCNC[2] – The video began spreading on social media sites Monday afternoon. In it, a female student can be seen sitting in her chair in a classroom where several other students are present. An officer can be seen grabbing the student out of her desk, causing the chair to flip over. Once the student is on the ground, the officer can be seen grabbing the student and dragging her for several feet.

The officer then tells the girl to put her hands behind her back. The video stops at that point.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is the agency that has school resource officers at Spring Valley High. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott tells News19 that a disruptive student refused to leave after a teacher asked her to. An administrator was called to the room, and also asked the student to leave, Lott said, and she refused again. Finally, the school resource officer came to the room. Lott said the officer forcibly removed the student and she resisted arrest.

Lott said the child was put under arrest.

News19 reached out to Richland School District Two, who gave the following response:

“We are aware of an incident that occurred today at Spring Valley High School,” the district said in a statement. “Video of it has been posted on social media. The incident is under investigation. We are working closely with the sheriff’s department.”

Now, the video of the takedown…

The Left thinks this is just awful, but on the other hand it’s a bad kid who’s disruptive in class, prevents the other students from learning and, when the teacher attempted to evict her from the classroom and get control of the class, refused to leave. So the school’s resource officer came and did his job.

It ought to be recognized, regardless of how unpleasant that video looks, that the girl in question was in complete control of what happened to her. She could have cooperated with the adult who was attempting to provide her with an education, she could have accepted being sent to the office after failing to cooperate, and she could have left the class when the resource officer was summoned.

She did none of the three.

And meanwhile the screaming is about the resource officer and the lousy “optics” of his methods of dislodging her from her seat.

As to the “racism” involved in this event, does anyone else notice that the majority of her classmates in that video appear to be black? That would appear significant because the girl in question was engaged in disrupting the educations of a classroom full of black kids. Given the dreadful statistics of crime and unemployment and educational disadvantage among black teenagers, shouldn’t we be rightly outraged and horrified over the at-risk kids being disrupted and forcing the presence of the resource officer?

Apparently not, according to #BlackLivesMatter. Which, after all, is nothing more than an unofficial lobby group for street criminals.
