For some inexplicable reason, Hillary Clinton is continuing this ridiculous recount campaign, even though it’s overwhelmingly clear that she’s not going to win. Hillary thinks that she might be able to eek out a victory in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, and thus win the presidency. But so far, things have not gone well for her in Wisconsin[1].
Originally, Trump defeated Clinton in Wisconsin by over 20,000 votes. Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, suggested that voter fraud and glitches with the voting machines could have affected the results on such a level as to put Hillary in the lead. By comparison, in Florida the difference between George W. Bush and Al Gore in 2000 was only around 500 votes — and Bush still won the state after his recount.
Nevertheless, Wisconsin began the recount on Thursday. And they were able to add one vote to Hillary’s total. Only one county showed a discrepancy and that was 17 extra votes for Stein, and 12 extra votes for Gary Johnson. Two votes were removed from Trump’s total and one from Clinton’s. So while thousands of dollars are being wasted on this recount, Hillary netted herself one measly vote.
Meanwhile, Jill Stein wired the money necessary to get the recount going:
Wire transfer of $3,499,689 from @DrJillStein[3] has arrived at Wisconsin Elections Commission.

Only it was bad news for her, too. It turns out that amount was wrong and she was short $400,000. “Unfortunately, there was an error in adding up figures from the 72 Wisconsin county clerks of their estimated recount costs and the actual total is $3,898,340,” the elections commission said in a statement. Whoops.
So far, though, they’re not holding Stein accountable for that mistake.
