ICE Union Head Calls For Congress To Investigate Obama Because He’s Acting “Like A Dictator”

Barack Obama has no respect for the Constitution, the law, or the American people. When Obama doesn’t like a law, he simply ignores it just as a dictator does. If the GOP had qualified leaders in Congress instead of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, they’d be calling him out on his lawless behavior. Yet, because of the lack of courage and poor political instincts, they’ve allowed Obama to run wild when his behavior is so beyond the pale that he’s being justifiably criticized like this by National ICE Council President Chris Crane[1],

“With regard to our government in general, I mean right now, that’s our problem with our immigration system,” National ICE Council President Chris Crane said. “[The problem] is not our immigration system, it’s our government, and it’s the ability of a president of the United States to ignore the laws enacted by Congress.”

“And it doesn’t matter what type of legislation we pass, until we address that problem, we will never have an immigration system that works,” he added. “As long as one person can act like a dictator and ignore the law and make his own laws through policy, we will never have a system that works.”

…“There is no more of a clear cut case in our country of the president overstepping his authority, ignoring the law, ignoring the Constitution, than the president’s ordering of ICE agents not to enforce U.S. immigration law,” he said. “Yet we have no investigations from Congress into this whatsoever.”

He’s 100% right and if anything, he’s understating his case. Republicans in Congress should not only be investigating Obama’s refusal to obey the law, they should be challenging it in court, hammering him for it publicly, and using the power of the purse to retaliate against him. When we wonder why so many lawmakers don’t respect the Constitution, vote for bills they don’t read, and ignore the law, the obvious answer is “because they get away with it.” These are not small matters and one of the reasons Republicans in D.C. are held in such low esteem by conservatives across the country is because they aren’t treating these issues with the seriousness that they deserve.
