We love some feel good news, and Ben Sunderman has managed to provide us with exactly that.

The 19 year old kid suffers from Down Syndrome and after writing a list of three goals to achieve before he turns 21 – get strong, get a girlfriend and get a job – he has already managed to cross one off the list and his reaction to learning he will be working from August was priceless.

Ben applied for a job with Embassy Suites hotel in Frisco, Texas, who have teamed up with Project Search to provide job opportunities for kids with learning difficulties who are trying to make the transition from school to the working world, and according to his mum, spend days watching the letterbox waiting for news.

His reaction when he finally gets the letter offering him a job is simply amazing. Have a look for yourselves.

This video is great, but can we get rid of the idea that Down syndrome is something you “suffer” from? People with Down syndrome lead happy, fulfilling, worthy lives — they aren’t suffering and they don’t need our sympathy or our pity.
